growing up as a military brat, i always thought i was going to marry a man in uniform.
and i did...kind of.
this weekend, the irish played the us naval academy and it was perfect football weather. i packed heavy coats for us but they stayed in the car. even though the game did not go our way, i was glad i brought bo with us to capture some moments of the day...
why do hot dogs just taste better at football games?
i know i have said this before, but colby will sell all his worldly possessions for golden tate. he stands the entire game with the football in his hand and just watches golden's every move...
bryce, on the other hand, would rather taste all the fine delicacies that the stadium has to offer...
and kai, well, i know she was wishing she had a book at some point but still managed to get into the moment...
these kids really got into it...
there were about 10 rows of naval students in the stadium. i hate to say it, but they and their band totally rocked the stadium...especially when the band played "hey, baby." navy folks just plain rock.
hey, there was a football game goin' on on the field...touchdown...irish...

where in the world is BY?
i will give you a hint--he is in a white shirt...
fourth quarter is always a nail biter...

can i just say that Jesus probably made the wooden benches at this stadium?
but there is still something special about it...
and colby trying to will his precious irish to a win...
alas, that was not suppose to be this weekend.
but the best part of the game was when both teams walked over to the navy student section and saluted them at the end of the game....

and then the irish acknowledged their #1 fans...

would it have been nice to come out with a win?
absolutely.
but to lose to a team who have as individuals chosen to lay down their lives so we have the freedom to spend a warm autumn day with our families cheering against them kind of puts the game in perspective.
go navy, go army, go marines and go air force!
up next..the price is right.
