the {price} is right...

you know you have a life-long friend when...

she listens to all your issues that God has been dealing with you...the same ones...year after year.

she gives up her (and her husband's) bedroom for you when you come to visit...and leaves gifts for you on the pillow.

she calls you, says "hi. how are you? ok. i've got to go."...and you are completely fine with that because you know that is just how she is.

she, while on vacation, agrees to be a guinea pig for your budding photography business, drags her husband and children in on it and runs all over town trying to find the perfect outfits for everyone...and smiles the whole time.

that's my girl, steph.

can you say...

backlogged.  

better yet, majorly backlogged. 

i have decided that the shooting part is fun.  the editing, not so much. our last week in cali, i did six shoots in seven days! plus the three shoots i did the week before.  now the fun has begun--editing!  and of course, why take 20 shots when you can take 600 (yup, an average of 600 per shoot--waaaayyyyy too many, but the novice in me felt like a high school girl with a crush so i nervously kept pushing the shutter button. before i knew it, cf cards were being filled up like it was christmas in july.)

so here i sit, 2:13 am with tons of photos to go through, school to plan (we are starting back up on Monday) and a plethra of other stuff that needs to be done.  i love my life.  i really do.  i wouldn't have it any other way.  except for maybe a yogurtland in south bend.  then my life would really be complete...

more photos...she is finished.  i miss her like i miss joy's biscotti that i left in the freezer.  and i know so much more about cmyk colors because of her.

{just a random note that i want everyone to know--i seriously risked ticks for her and this shot in the field. that is how much i love her.  i don't risk getting ticks for just anyone. and the bench--it's her piano bench that she had made.  she's so insanely talented.  i want to be her when i grow up.}

so more to come from me...newborn JT and his parents, "holy hotness" sisters (not my words, but they apply), baby K and her parents and two of my fav families at stanford...

oh, and did you notice the new logo...yeah, baby...

{sister}hood

i woke up this morning and thought of that word.  let me back up...i went to bed after spending several hours with her last night...

 

she did not know i spent several hours with her, but i did...trying to get her colors just right.  she found a big red barn and we took some pics for her business website. great idea, right?  i thought so too until i had to edit these photos--red color cast will be the death of me.  so i cheated...well, just for this post...i converted to black and white until i figure out how to fix it (translation: i will be up again late tonight reading and surfing the internet).  

anyway, that has nothing to do with {sister}hood.  this is kim...and i {heart} her. i also love it when she laughs...it's usually followed by a "dude,..." she is one of my ace boon koons, partners in crime, road dawg...you get the picture. she makes me happy. i would not have my mac computer, hudson jeans and yougurtland fetish without her. she has permission to tell me when i should let some things go from my wardrobe (that is code for "dude, you are too old to wear that").  she also helped decorate our house. see (go to page 58). she is just cool like that.  

she's also a fierce tennis player.  named her dog "dude." eats captain crunch for dinner.  realizes that when one is in new york city shopping, eating is not important (lurves that). doesn't share her spinach dip at houston's (lurves that too...get your own bowl, dude).  followed her passion to start her own business. is a loyal friend.  most importantly, she is an awesome mom and loves Jesus.  

so many reasons to love her...
