disney world or bust...

on the last full day in orlando, we decided to head to the happiest place on earth. 

{ok. i just have to put this out there...is disney world really the happiest place on earth?  kids were seriously losing their minds there. just sayin'...}

but the excitement of getting to mickey's spacious abode was in the air...

even flat daddy left his mark by the ferry boats...

whoo hooooo...

mickey, i love what you've done with the place...

 

and we were met with a parade in honor of flat daddy (not really)...

i think flat daddy was a little jealous of mr. incredible's muscles...

but he really hit it off with the chipmunks. he is such a groupie--you'd think he would have a little more self control when he is around celebrities...

you can't go to disney world and not take a picture of the walkway...

 

and when in disney world, you must ride all the infamous rides...

the teacup

 

yes, it is a small world.

this roller coaster was bryce's favorite ride. ever. he went on it seven times.

we stood longer in line for the princesses than for any of the rides. 

none of the boys wanted in on the princess action. cinderella asked bryce if he liked blondes. he said no.

they really had that hand thingy down but inside i was asking myself what are these "princesses" really thinking...

 

we stayed and played a little more, but the plan was to go back to the hotel so the we could watch "the" game and then come back to disney world for the fireworks...

meanwhile, back at the ranch...

the princesses inspired kennedy to reach down deep and get in touch with her inner self.

i think she found it...

and every princess needs a brother who pretends to be a pirate knight in shining armor to rescue her...

enough of that.

it's game time...

the irish struggle but rally for a comeback.

colby goes through a myriad of emotions during the game...

but flat daddy's expression stays the same...(he is so uptight on game day)...

we think the irish are going to pull out a win in the last seconds of the game...

but not so...

so we return to the only place where we can drown our sorrows in mickey mouse shaped waffles...

a couple more times on the roller coaster...

 

and then it was time to leave the happiest place on earth...

{unfortunately, flat daddy was met with bad news upon his arrival at home...the network has decided not to renew his contract and thus terminate the flat daddy show.  you can, however, buy cds of his episodes at your local target store.}

{day 6} is there a doctor in the house?

after all the fun at animal kingdom, another day of rest by the pool was needed.

everyone was maxin' and relaxin' until...

 

flat daddy severed both of his feet...

 

luckily, no major arteries were severed.

but still...surgery was required.

{warning: due to the graphic nature of the next couple of shots, they are not appropriate for small children or men with weak stomachs}

we were able to find an anasht  aneaste  anastegei someone to put flat daddy to sleep...

scalpel , i mean, stapler...

 

 

all better...

 

after surgery, flat daddy was wheeled into the recovery room, where he spent the rest of the afternoon recuperating...

unfortunately, the children were distraught and traumatized by the accident. 

as you can see, they spent the rest of the afternoon by flat daddy's side waiting for him to regain consciousness...

 

 

 

i think they might need counseling.

next: last day in orlando...flat daddy takes on mickey and usc.

day 5 in orlando meant animal kingdom, baby!

flat daddy contemplating the meaning of life by the tree of life...

once again, bryce tries to check all the rides that he was going to go on. when we walked in, another family was leaving and they gave us their stroller that they had rented.  i was still recuperating from the cost to enter the park so it was mucho appreciated.  i {heart} random acts of kindness...

the first ride the kiddos wanted to go on was the water ride...

45 minutes later, auntie pam was not happy about the amount of wetness she experienced on the ride. this is her "look" that says "i.  am.  too.  through." she gives that look a lot but they had fun. thanks auntie pam for taking one for the team...

the jungle was the next stop.  flat daddy's inner tarzan took over until...

i was completed grossed out by these....

bats....ugh. they looked just gross.  God really does have an imagination.

one thing that wasn't gross was the architecture and props that were used in animal kingdom.  my inner photog was lovin' it.  i really think it would be an awesome location for a photo shoot, but wait at seventy-nine bucks a head...um, maybe not...

flat daddy wanted me to take a picture of him on the bicycle. 

whoo hoo, look ma! no hands!

leave it up to flat daddy and the boys to find the drums. he keeps trying to get the band back together...

kenny was getting ready for the safari ride. which was great. until the torrential downpour...

but we were able to see lions and tigers and bears, oh my! giraffe, elephants and big long horn bull looking animals...

after waiting for the rain to subside and drying off a little, it was time to get hit the rides again...

 

poor bryce though, he was unable to go on most of the rides with the big kids.  so we took advantage of the photo booth...

 

flat daddy is such a groupie. he stood in line for thirty minutes to get these guy's autographs....

before we knew it, it was time for the farewell parade. they even kick you out nicely at the happiest place on earth...

later on that night...

bryce was bonding with flat daddy.  

they played games together...

and then snuggled up for night night...

next...is there a doctor in the house?
